Easy Everyday Crochet Cardigan Pattern

Easy Everyday Crochet Cardigan Pattern

Today we have a new easy everyday crochet cardigan pattern to share with you all! Maylee is such a cozy, beginner friendly sweater and it whips up very quickly.

Easy Everyday Crochet Cardigan Pattern

I love the longer style and casual, no buttons opening. It’s great for layering and creating a relaxed look.  This is my go-to style for winter, so I decided to design one that I would love to wear every day!

Easy Everyday Crochet Cardigan Pattern

The Maylee pattern calls for bulky yarn, so this sweater is a fairly quick project. Faster than crocheting a blanket, which I no longer seem to have the patience for…sad!

You can find the pattern on Etsy.

Or on Ravelry, of course.

And my growing favorite place to find yarn and patterns, Love Crochet.

The drop shoulder design features five panels that are sewn together as you go.  Two sets of panels are exactly the same, making things even easier.  Included in the pattern are women’s sizes XS, S, M/L, XL, and 2X, perfect for making one for yourself and one for a friend.

Shown here is Knit Picks Simply Wool in the color Wilbur. I loved working with this yarn. It was easy to work with and I’m finding it to wear very well, too. I’ve never had a wool sweater before and I like it!

The only supplies you’ll need is a 7mm crochet hook (or size to get gauge) and a tapestry needle. I really like using these sewing clips to hold the pieces when I sewed the panels together. But those are optional, of course.  I also like to use stitch markers to keep track of counting rows. Or tally marks scrawled on the pattern page work, too!

Emmeline Cardigan crochet pattern

Emmeline Cardigan Crochet Pattern

Hi crochet friends! I’m so excited to introduce to you today the Emmeline Cardigan Crochet Pattern!

Emmeline Cardigan crochet pattern

I’ve had this pattern in the works for quite awhile and I’m so happy to finally get to share it with you because I think it is so special.

Emmeline Cardigan crochet pattern

I learned how to design circular yoke sweaters a few months ago and I know many of you have enjoyed the Dahlia pullover. My dream was to create a really beautiful cardigan that was unique and inspiring while not being too difficult or complex.

Emmeline Cardigan crochet pattern

I like it when a pattern keeps me on my toes, but isn’t too overwhelming. So I designed this cardigan to have one thing to think about at a time. The increases are simplified because they only happen in single crochet rows. The crossed doubles give something different to do while building up the yoke and sleeves.

Then comes the woven stitch–the highlight of this sweater. The woven stitch pattern accents the waist and creates a pretty edge while building up the even rows at the bottom of the body and cuffs.

Don’t worry if you aren’t familiar with these stitches, the pattern includes links to two videos that walk you through them step by step. You only need to know basic stitches such as chaining, single crochet, double crochet.

I really like how it turned out!  This sweater is great for wearing with a dress or skirt to church, out to dinner…anytime I need an extra layer on top of something pretty and feminine.

The pattern comes in women’s sizes XS, S, M, L, XL, 2X and is available on the Love Crochet website.

I have to talk about this fabric yarn, that I really love.  This yarn is made from recycled fibers from the garment industry and is 80% cotton.  It’s very durable and therefore perfect for things like bags, totes, purses, and backpacks. It’s also super bulky so it works up very quickly.  Plus, it’s easy to find. The Love Crochet website has this Hoooked RibbonXL in a ton of beautiful colors. Wouldn’t it be fun to make one in every color?

Here’s a peak at some of the information in the pattern to get you started:

General Instructions:  The Medina Market Tote is worked in the round from the bottom up.  Sturdy handles are added while finishing the top and the bottom is securely closed in the last step.

Celestial Crossbody Bag Crochet Pattern

Today I have a fun new Crochet Pattern to share with you!  The Celestial Crossbody Bag is a quick and easy weekend project, not to mention a great accessory update!

Round Purse Crochet Pattern

I wanted to design a purse that had a unique shape and would go with anything.  This little purse could easily be dressed up or down. Plus, it’s a fast enough project that you could make it in several colors to go with anything in your closet.

I wanted a durable yarn for this purse, so I chose fabric yarn. This yarn is great because it’s made from recycled fabric scraps. So it acts more like clothing than yarn, and it’s giving new life to what would’ve otherwise been trash.  I like that is won’t fuzz out or get worn out the way regular yarn will, so it’s great for bags of any kind.

I got mine from We Are Knitters.* It’s called The Tape, and the best part is you only need one skein! So it’s easy to make two (or three…) This little purse would make a great gift! Who wouldn’t love a little round purse like this?

The purse comes with a long strap and I love that you could tie a knot in the end to make it shorter, so versatile. And no need to buy anything else for this project–it closes with a braided tassel that goes through a hole in the front, easy!

Doll Backpack Carrier Crochet Pattern

I have a fun new kids pattern to share with you today! The Doll Backpack Carrier Crochet Pattern is perfect for both 15″ and 18″ dolls.

doll carrier crochet pattern pin

My daughters want to take their dolls everywhere they go now, so of course I had to crochet a carrier for them.  I wanted to design something that would be easy for them to put on and take the dolls in out by themselves. They have tested them out and these backpacks definitely fit the bill!

They have both 15″ and 18″ dolls, so I designed the backpack in two sizes.  I also included strap adjustments for different size girls. There are separate strap lengths for ages 2-4, 5-7, and 8-10.

Wouldn’t this backpack carrier make a great birthday or Christmas gift?

All you need is two skeins of The Tape fabric yarn (I used We are Knitters*). You can use any bulky yarn for this project, but I really liked using this fabric yarn. Having a lot of experience with kids and yarn, I wanted something that would be durable and could hold up to lots of wear and tear.

Knit Look Sweater Crochet Pattern

Today I’m happy to share my newest crochet pattern! I wanted to design a “knit look” sweater crochet pattern for children and adults: The Strata Sweater.

*This post contains affiliate links, which means I receive a small portion of the sale if you purchase items from the links on this page.

knit look crochet sweater pattern

I named it the Strata Sweater because I’m always inspired by nature, and the rows of knit look stitches in this sweater reminded me of the strata layers in The Grand Canyon and other places where rock layers can be found.

This crochet pattern isn’t just for kids; the pattern includes 11 sizes from kids 4 to women’s 4X.

I just love the unique look of the crochet stitches in this pattern.  I included side slits and extra wide ribbed cuffs for a modern look.

The worsted weight yarn works up fairly quickly, always a plus in my book. And, while you can use any worsted yarn for this sweater, cotton yarn gives great stitch definition for showing off the knit look.  I used Color Mist from Knit Picks.

One of the reasons that I wanted to design sweater patterns was because I wanted to challenge myself to learn new things. This sweater challenged me because I was forced to find a solution to a problem.

Craftsy Unlimited FREE 7 day trial at Craftsy.com

Most of the time when you’re crocheting in the round, you will do one of two things: join with a slip stitch and chain one (or two or more) or crochet in a spiral. Well, neither of those techniques worked well for this pattern. Thankfully, I found the solution in a great crochet book!

In the video below, I explain the BEST way to create a seam when crocheting a sweater in the round.

best way to crochet in the round

You may have heard of hdc in the third loop only, but how about sc in the third loop? I love this stitch pattern! And I couldn’t find an abbreviation for it, so I made up my own: sc3lo.

In this video, I explain how do the sc3lo and the details of creating the straight seam.

I hope you enjoy this new knit look sweater crochet pattern! I can’t wait to see what you make. Grab your yarn and your pattern and have some fun!

Crochet a Boho Wall Hanging

Today I get to share with you this fun new way to crochet a boho wall hanging for your home or office!

crochet boho wall hanging

I love a simple and quick refresh to my home decor and this project fits the bill!  I designed this wall hanging to be quick to make with very few materials.  You may already have them all on hand!

A boho wall hanging crochet pattern for home or dorm.

You’ll just need a ball of wool yarn, a crochet hook, and a stick. I actually found my stick at the local craft store, because it was pouring rain when I was finishing this project. But I would much prefer to go on a nature walk with my family and bring one home as a memory.

This project is great for the adventurous beginner who wants to learn something new.

The Dahlia Crochet Sweater Pattern

Dahlia Crochet Sweater Pattern

Today I’m happy to share with you the latest from Teal & Finch: The Dahlia Crochet Sweater Pattern!

*This post contains affiliate links which means if you purchase something from a link on this page, I may receive a small percentage of the sale.

dahlia crochet sweater pattern

I love this pattern because it’s actually two for one! The PDF includes instructions for both short and long sleeves.

So, depending on the type of yarn you use, this could be your go-to sweater year round.

I love Knit Picks CotLin for spring and summer.  It’s a dk weight yarn with a touch of linen so it doesn’t stretch.  As you may know, 100% cotton yarn might stretch a bit.   My daughter has worn hers several times and I haven’t seen any signs of stretching.

For for fall and winter, I’m imagining any dk weight yarn with some merino wool such as Swish DK. It would be gorgeous with the puffs!

Speaking of puffs…how cute are these? I named it the Dahlia sweater, because the circles of puffs remind me of the layers of petals in a dahlia flower. I love the added touch of the puffs on the sleeves…it just adds that extra dimension of interest.

I designed the pattern so it is worked from the top down with the sleeves finished last. The best part is, there’s no seaming!

The pattern also includes links to 4 videos to help you along the way. And as always, if you need help, you can always contact me.

The pattern comes in all sizes from child size 4 to women’s 3X. So you can make one for yourself and someone you love. So grab some yarn and have some fun!

Snow Flurries Capelet Knitting Pattern

Snow Flurries Capelet Knitting Pattern

I have a fun new accessory to share with you today! It’s the Snow Flurries Capelet Knitting Pattern!

snow flurries capelet knitting pattern

This beautiful capelet is a similar style to the Granny Square Capelet that I designed a few weeks ago. But this knitting pattern has a unique stitch that you may not have seen before.

Snow Flurries Capelet Knitting Pattern

I thought this stitch was so pretty and fun to work that I wanted to come up with a garment that would easily show it off.  I included six photos in the pattern to show you how to complete this stitch step by step. It is a really fun stitch to work!

Snow Flurries Capelet Knitting Pattern

Capelets are so versatile because not only are they warm and pretty, but you can wear them with a dress that has “statement sleeves.” You don’t have to worry about bulky sleeves going through the arms of a sweater. You can just pop the capelet over your head and it is surprisingly warm!

Snow Flurries Capelet Knitting Pattern

The pattern includes all the details you’ll need to make your own capelet, including what yarn I used, needle size and gauge.  Best of all, I designed it for ALL sizes from 18 months to women’s 4XL.  So you can make one for yourself and more for gifts!
